The Ledges of St. George

Championship golf with spectacular red rock views and a well-stocked pro shop

About

The Ledges isn't just another golf course, it's 18 holes carved into St. George's dramatic red rock landscape. The front nine plays like a traditional links-style course, relatively forgiving for mid-to-high handicappers who want to warm up without too much pressure. But stick around for the back nine. That's where things get interesting, with elevated tees, canyon carries, and views that'll make you forget about your scorecard.

Practice Facilities and Amenities

The practice facilities do their job well. You've got a solid driving range and a fast putting green to dial in your speed before heading out. Skip the chipping area though, it's all artificial turf, so you won't get a real feel for your short game. The pro shop stays well-stocked with gear and apparel, though service can be hit or miss depending on who's working.

Playing Conditions

Wind is a factor here, especially in the afternoon when it whips through the canyons. The course maintains fast greens year-round, so leave the heavy hand at home. Pace of play tends to move along nicely, and the staff generally keeps things running smooth. Free parking makes it easy to pop in for a quick nine or settle in for the full experience.

Location and Tips

Located about 65 minutes from Zion's south entrance, The Ledges works well as a morning activity before heading to the park, or as a way to unwind after a day of hiking. The dramatic backdrop of Snow Canyon's red cliffs gives you a taste of southern Utah's geology while you play.

Pro tip: Just remember to bring extra balls for the back nine, those canyon carries look closer than they are.

Recently went on a 8-person golf trip and The Ledges was the best value of our trip. We teed off in the afternoon the first week in June and had a great time. Course was is pretty good shape (greens were heavily punched maybe a week or two before) but for $60 it was deal. The front 9 was pretty average in terms of difficulty and views but the back 9 at this course is fantastic. Pics from the course don't do it justice. We loved the snack bar out by the driving range which was a good stop between 9's.

We played today as a final round in our 7-person golf trip. The course was in fantastic shape, and the staff were top notch friendly and helpful. The front nine is more open and links style. That back nine is more scenic and requires thoughtful drives and placement. The greens are large, multi-tiered, and challenging - breaking more than they look and requiring touch with speed.

We started late and we were only able to play about 12 holes but it was a great time! The guy at the pro shop on Sunday night was super nice and the course was beautiful. Front 9 was fun but the back was absolutely stunning to drive through. I highly recommend this course to others and I hope to play the back 9 eventually.

Stunning golf course. Super well maintained with immaculate practice facilities and a beautiful clubhouse. Ledges is one you don’t want to skip when you come play golf in St. George. 🔥

Amazing course had a lot fun, paid $50 for the “twilight rate” did not get told that you play how ever many holes you can till you can’t anymore. Tried to talk to the pro shop and get a come pack pass for 9 they wouldn’t let us. Just told us to play till you can’t. Ended up only playing 13, was going to play more but the short angry old guy came out on the course and starting yelling at us to get the carts back now, that it’s a hard done at 9 o’clock no matter what. Would’ve been nice if the pro shop told us that when we asked for the come back pass. After he proceeds to yell at us instead of just talking like we’re humans. We get the golf carts back to the car and he proceeds to follow us and yell at us back at the car as well. Saying we need to show “golf etiquette” when we’re just trying to play 18. After being so mean to us we asked if he could talk to us better and show us better hospitality he laughed at us and drove the cart away. I think his name is Scott, I am unsure, he is a very rude and impolite person. Loved playing this course throughout the years always had a great time till today. I won’t be back after being treated like garbage for not doing anything wrong.
