About

Avis Car Rental in St. George puts you behind the wheel for exploring southern Utah's red rock country. The location stocks everything from compact cars to SUVs, plus luxury vehicles and electric options when you want something different for the drive.

St. George sits perfectly positioned for multi-park adventures. You're an hour from Zion's main entrance, two hours from Bryce Canyon, and close to state parks like Snow Canyon and Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Having your own wheels opens up backcountry drives, scenic byways, and the freedom to chase sunsets without shuttle schedules.

The rental process is straightforward, though calling ahead helps ensure you get the vehicle class you want. If you're planning to explore remote areas or tackle drives like the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel, ask about SUV options. For city exploring and paved park roads, their standard fleet handles southern Utah's terrain just fine.

Pick up your rental and you're minutes from St. George's historic downtown, 15 minutes from Snow Canyon State Park, and an easy drive to all the major national parks that make this region a road trip paradise.

The guy didn’t answer the phone and when we arrived he treated us as though we were stupid for even asking. Worst experience yet. They didn’t even have a car. Go to another place.

Maybe the worst customer experience of my life. Made an online reservation for a one-way car from St. George to Vegas. As soon as we walked in and said we were here to pick up our car, the employee Mike started flipping us crap and had THE WORST attitude I've ever experienced for this type of transaction. Told us twice he didn't have our name on a reservation, then when we suggested the Rez # he states in his grumpy voice that he can enter it, but it won't do any good. After 5 minutes of searching, he did find our reservation, but then proceeded to tell us that he probably didn't have our car because "It's random whether someone dropped a car off here you can take one-way, and it's all handled by the bosses in Georgia". Interesting. Then he proceeded to tell us he has sciatica, and every time he thinks he's catching up with his amount of work (he stated he had 2 reservations for the day), more people keep coming in and he gets behind. After more grumbling he takes us out to a car, explained to me again "how it works" and that just because we reserved a car doesn't mean they have one. The car was dirty inside and out and had no gas. The bright side was he explained to me how to get to the Chevron around the corner so I could fill it. Whatever health issues or problems with your bosses you have doesn't give you the right to act like a complete jerk to the paying customer. WE WILL NEVER RENT HERE AGAIN AND WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS IF POSSIBLE!

We rented a car to go to Vegas for the night. It was an easy process and the car was clean and in good shape.

One of the worst rental car experiences I’ve ever had. I reserved a 12-passenger van in Las Vegas for a family vacation to Utah. When I arrived, Avis gave me a 15-passenger van instead, which left almost no room for luggage. After loading everyone up, the van wouldn’t start and had to be jump-started. They switched us to another van that was filthy, had personal items left inside from the previous renter, needed a jump start as well, and had a sliding door that appeared to be held together with duct tape. I expressed safety concerns and was assured the vehicle was safe. About an hour into our drive, the sliding door popped open while traveling down the highway. Roadside assistance was unable to help, and we spent hours limping to our destination in Utah. When I contacted Avis again, they offered to tow the van but told me it would take two days to get a replacement vehicle—while I was on a family vacation planned around having transportation. This isn’t about the money. It’s about trust and safety. Avis failed to provide the vehicle I reserved, failed to provide a safe replacement, and failed to offer a reasonable solution when things went wrong. As a President’s Club member, I can confidently say I’ll never rent from Avis again.

Extremely unfriendly staff. Insinuating we are too dump to get gas. Behaving against what customer service already had confirmed over the phone. Recommend to never go here. Th
