About

Chef Shon and Liz have created something special in Kanab. Sego blends New American techniques with East Asian and Southwestern flavors, turning out dishes like sweet and spicy ribs, dan dan noodles, and seared duck lo mein that somehow make perfect sense together. The shared plate concept encourages exploration (and conversation), while the warm modern dining room sets the right tone for a memorable meal.

The kitchen sources ingredients from across Utah, and it shows in every bite. Seared trout, elote fritters, and perfectly cooked asparagus highlight seasonal produce. The craft cocktail program matches the kitchen's creativity, with drinks that complement the bold flavors on the plate. Vegan options ensure everyone at the table finds something exciting.

This is Kanab's standout restaurant, the kind of place that draws visitors back for a second night. The outdoor seating works well for groups, though reservations are essential (walk-ins often face lengthy waits). The staff treats dining like an experience, not just a transaction.

Located an hour from Zion's entrance, Sego makes for an excellent dinner destination after a day in the park. It's worth building your evening around, especially if you're staying in Kanab and want something more refined than the typical tourist fare. The drive from other southern Utah towns pays off with food that rivals anything you'll find in larger cities.

A class dining experience. Best dinner in town that we had. Innovative and tasty menu with daily chef specials. Quality ingredients. Warm and professional staff. Make sure you secure a reservation before showing up because it is quite the popular spot. We enjoyed our tasty cocktails too!

Had an unbelievable meal at Sego. Very unique dishes packed with flavor and a blend of some of the best cuisines. Thanks to our server Derek for great recommendations. Pork belly and watermelon perfectly balanced flavor, heat, and the refreshing cool of the watermelon. Highly recommend! Street food xoi was one of the most unique dishes I’ve had, still not positive what all was in it, but it was great. Goat cheese and mushroom toast I thought was okay, the homemade cheese was really good. My wife really enjoyed this dish, recommend if mushrooms and goat cheese are up your alley. GET THE DUCK LO MEIN! Highlight of the meal for me, although all of the dishes were very good. The duck was so tender and perfectly cooked and went perfectly with the house made lo mein. Banana bread pudding was nuts. Soooo good. All of the drinks we had were also awesome. Awesome to find such a great restaurant while on an adventure through southern Utah. If you’re anywhere near Kanab, be sure to make your way to Sego.

Sego Restaurant is said to be one of the best and more high-end dining options in Kanab, a charming, tidy little town. Some locals mentioned that it has a master chef, which may explain why our server seemed a bit distant and was not very receptive when we politely mentioned that the Dan Dan noodles were a little oily. In fact, the noodles were quite oily and a bit too salty. The server told us that if we didn’t like it, we could switch to another dish—but did so without much warmth. We hope they can take customer feedback more openly. To be fair, the food is better than at Wild Thyme Bistro, though the service could feel more welcoming.

Our conceier suggested this place. We made a reservation. We waited 10 minutes for the hostess to notice us. When we finally sat down the hostesssuggest we order 6-7 items to share. The place was hot inside and service was slow. They didn't allow substitutions on the menu. You couldn't tone down the spice as most items must have been pre cooked. The portions were small and price was high. The steak was cut up for you. Ordered a cookie dessert and the cookie was burnt on the bottom. Overall would not recommend it return.

This restaurant is a must-visit! We ordered the pork chop, and it was absolutely delicious. If you enjoy a richer, fattier cut of pork, you will love this dish—the portion of fatty pork adds so much flavor. Even for a traditional Chinese dish, the presentation was impressively refined and elegant.
