About

Dark Sky RV Campground delivers what most RV parks promise but rarely achieve: actual luxury in the desert. Every pull-through site comes with full hookups and a covered cabana complete with gas firepit, lounge chairs, and picnic table. You're not just getting a parking spot. You're getting your own outdoor living room.

The bathhouses feel more like spa retreats than campground facilities. Heated tile floors keep your feet warm during chilly desert mornings. Water pressure is strong, temperatures stay consistent, and everything sparkles clean. Free showers with heated floors aren't something you expect at an RV park, but here they are.

Thursday evenings bring the whole campground together for social cookouts. The owners clearly care about creating community, not just collecting fees. They add improvements each year and maintain a well-stocked camp store with honor-system snacks (the banana bread gets rave reviews). A dedicated dog park keeps four-legged travelers happy while their humans relax by the firepit.

The location puts you just outside Kanab with easy access to town amenities, but far enough out to enjoy true quiet and those famous southern Utah views. On clear nights, you can see all the way to the Grand Canyon's North Rim from your site. The name isn't just marketing. This really is dark sky country, perfect for stargazing after the cookout winds down.

We had a wonderful stay at Dark Sky RV Park & Campground! From the moment we arrived, campground hosts Cory and Kelly made us feel welcome with their friendly attitude and speedy check-in. They were helpful, accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed. The campground offers a great variety of sites and amenities that make for a comfortable stay. Everything was well maintained, and we especially appreciated the clean, organized laundry area—it made longer travels much easier. Overall, Dark Sky is a fantastic place to stay if you're looking for a clean, welcoming campground with excellent hosts and great amenities. We'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to fellow RV travelers!

We needed a quick spot to stop, rest and shower. They were very helpfully from the first phone call to the easy sign up and pay on line. The showers and restrooms are very nice and clean. We happed to come on a Thursday which is the night they cook for everyone! What an amazing concept. We weren't able to stay for dinner but loved the idea of meeting new people. We will definitely come back again to stay when we come back to Kanab. And to top it off we took a few photos to prove that it is a dark sky ! Happy camping glamping!

We loved our stay at Dark Sky! The owners and camp hosts were all super friendly and helpful. Dogs are truly welcomed, and they are not limited to 2 like so many campgrounds. We have 3 pointer mixes so we really appreciated this! The 24-hour store with Venmo pay was very convenient for drinks and snacks, and they also sell some nice local gifts like honey, soap and beautiful hand-painted cards. The campsites are huge and well-spaced and each has a little shelter, lounge area and propane firepit. The bathhouse with indoor and outdoor shower was cleverly designed and very clean. One day a week the owners and hosts hold an evening social with free drinks and goodies so we had a chance to meet the other campers. We wanted to stay longer, and can’t wait to come back!

Just stayed at Dark Sky outside of Kanab, Utah. Amazing park, perhaps the best yet of my three months of RV life. Social gathering with melon and pastry, a no light policy after 10 pm, for stargazing, your own patio with chaise loungers, fire pit and shelter. The showers, restrooms and common areas are spectacular, several Jeeps for rent, super fancy laundry machines and well stocked, indoor/outdoor kitchens available 24/7. All on the honor system. I was in Camp Luxury, all by myself.

We made a last minute change to our itinerary to stay in the area for an activity between national parks and I’m so glad we did! We were blown away by this place! The details put into everything were so well thought out. The bathrooms were immaculate and definitely the most luxury bathrooms at any campground or RV resort we’ve stayed. The kids had a blast digging, swinging, and cooling off with the fish in the small pond. The owner went over the top to make sure we had everything we needed and was so kind and helpful. Also, we loved that we could buy local eggs from their store. Very impressive, and we will definitely plan to come back longer next time we are in town!
