Harry Reid International Airport
Las Vegas's major international hub with efficient terminals, clear navigation, and that unmistakable Vegas energy from the moment you land.
About
Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran) is Las Vegas's primary gateway, serving travelers headed to the Strip, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and beyond to southern Utah destinations like Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. The airport handles flights to destinations worldwide and sits about 15 minutes south of downtown Las Vegas.
Terminal Layout and Navigation
The terminals are clean, modern, and surprisingly easy to navigate despite the airport's size. Clear signage throughout, efficient TSA lines, and comfortable seating mean you won't feel lost or rushed. The tram service connecting terminals runs smoothly, and if you're flying Delta, United, Southwest, or another major carrier, you'll find restaurants and shops scattered across the concourses. Security moves quickly, especially if you have TSA PreCheck.
The Vegas Experience
What makes Harry Reid distinctly Vegas is immediate and unapologetic. Slot machines line the center aisles the moment you step into the terminal. Vibrant artwork, the constant hum of activity, and that gambling-ready energy make it clear you're not arriving at just any airport. If you're flying in on a clear day, request a seat on the right side of the plane for stunning views of the Strip as you descend.
Parking and Accessibility
Parking options include free and paid lots, plus valet service. The airport is wheelchair accessible throughout, with accessible entrances, seating, and restrooms. Whether you're starting a Vegas weekend or using Harry Reid as your jumping-off point for Zion, the Narrows, Angels Landing, or the red rock country beyond, the airport handles the logistics smoothly so you can focus on what's ahead.

I was full of anxieties as I headed to the airport today. Hearing all of the horror stories about the TSA wait times has made my stomach turn. But today's experience was seamless and fast. My total TSA wait time was approximately 2 minutes. TSA agents were professional and very nice. Overall I felt really happy with my traveling day!

TSA security line today went outside, back inside, looped around to other side, back outside, and then inside and finally thru security. Took 1.5 hours. Thank you to all the TSA workers there today!
