The location is pretty good, close to Zion. However that’s where the good news ends. The receptionist wasn’t very friendly, the room that we stayed in was dingy and the AC wasn’t working. It was an extremely hot and arid day ( it was about 95 degrees outside). We set the thermostat at 65 and we were still sweating all night. Horrible experience. Also the bed I slept on had torn bedsheets. Expected more from a place that was so pricey. Not worth the money paid AT ALL. Will not be returning.
A rather ordinary, and quite dirty, motel. The rooms would be decent for a US hotel (large), but they're very poorly soundproofed from outside noise, and both the air conditioning and the refrigerator are excessively noisy. The receptionist should find another job; he's very unpleasant. Oh yes, La Verkin is 30 minutes from Zion National Park, and there's nothing around.
This hotel is called BW Plus ZION West, which is misleading because it's far from the park entrance. There is a Best Western right next to the park entrance in Springdale. This Best Western is located across from a gas station, in a completely charmless setting. It's nothing like the spirit of the national park. It's officially rated 4 stars (it's a Best Western PLUS), but in reality, it falls far short of that standard! The facilities are unremarkable, the breakfast room resembles a cafeteria, it's noisy and dirty (but there is a tip jar!). The products on offer are all processed, sugary, and packaged in plastic. Nothing fresh. Nothing healthy. Plates and cutlery are also plastic, with zero waste management. This is unacceptable in 2026: massive waste, garbage cans full of unsorted trash. Seeing this doesn't exactly make you want to eat breakfast. There's no way to get a drink or dinner in the evening, even though it's isolated on the side of a main road. You have to make do with the station's convenience store. Not very glamorous.
But the worst part is the staff's welcome. A young man with white/blond hair doesn't hesitate to ride his scooter into the lobby (not ideal for a 4-star hotel; it's like the metro in Marseille). When we approached for check-in, there was no response to our greeting. He simply threw the documents to be signed onto the counter. When we asked a question, he didn't answer. No friendliness or sense of hospitality whatsoever. His brunette colleague tries to compensate somewhat, but she doesn't know the area well. For a 4-star hotel, it's disappointing.
The hotel is noisy, with a concrete structure that resonates. No one comes to police the area at night, even though groups of people talk loudly with the doors open. Since the outdoor jacuzzi is heated, it's a place for much laughter at night, right under the windows.
Finally, at checkout, I asked for my bill. I was assured it would be sent electronically. Well, I'm still waiting despite two requests.
In short, if you're looking for a nice place near Zion National Park, you'll be disappointed. This place ruined my experience.
